The Original type Kilner Jar is identified by the glass lid being recessed and fitting
over the top of the jar, where the later types the glass lid fitted inside the neck of the jar. Kilner made these jars in
1-2-3-4 and 7lb sizes.
The neck of the jar measures 55mm or 2 3/16 inches inside and the rubber sealing ring measures 63mm id and 74mm od
or 2 7/16 inches id and 2 13/16 inches od. The neck size is the same for all capacities of jar except the 7lb.
New white rubber sealing rings are sold in units of 10 for £7.00 with a postage cost of £1.35 for up to 4 units.
