The Dual Purpose type Kilner Jar is identified by the squat squared off shape.
Most have Dual Purpose molded into the glass.
The neck of the jar measures 72mm or 2 13/16 inches inside.
Metal sealing discs by Leifheit which fit Kilner DP jars are sold in units of 12 for £8.00 Plus postage.

New single use metal screw tops which replace the Metal Screw Ring and Sealing Disc
Ideal if you are using the jars for jam and chutney and you are only using part of the jar no loose bits. These Items are made in Italy
and I have also used them to preserve fruit.These will fit other brands of wide mouth jars as well.

Some were made circular with Kilner reg Dual Purpose Jar round
the shoulder of the jar.
Some later jars have Ravenhead Kilner Jar reg. moulded into the glass these jars use a metal
screw ring.
These jars do not have a glass lid but require
a special metal disc
with rubber molded on to the edge.One size fits all capacities of jar.
Be aware that the jars originaly supplied with a glass lid and plastic screw band, with a very square
shape and the capacity in ml marked underneath do not accept the metal screw bands on this page
for these jars go to the red top page.
Kilner made these jars in 1,2,3 and 4lb sizes.
